Abstract:
(EN) Color toner images are transferred in registry to a receiving sheet (66) held on a transfer drum (18). To facilitate releasing the sheet with the last image the drum surface is roughened, providing at least 0.002 inches between peaks and valleys (89). To offset difficulties created by such roughening in initial securing of the sheet to the drum, a transfer field is not applied as the leading edge of the sheet leaves the nip. The transfer field is applied after a short portion of the sheet, for example, 0.25 inches has left the nip.
(FR) Des images couleur formées par colorant toner sont transférées selon un mode de repérage sur une feuille réceptrice (66) maintenue sur un tambour de transfert (18). Pour faciliter la libération de la feuille avec la dernière image transférée, la surface du tambour est rendue rugueuse, avec une distance d'au moins 0,002 pouces entre les creux (89) et les crêtes. Pour permettre malgré tout l'opération, rendue difficile à cause de cette rugosité, de la fixation initiale de la feuille au tambour, l'application du champ de transfert ne s'effectue pas au moment où le bord de tête de la feuille quitte la ligne de pincement entre les deux tambours, mais au moment où la feuille a déjà parcouru une certaine distance après avoir quitté la ligne de pincement entre les deux tambours, par exemple 0,25 pouce.
