Abstract:
(EN) An improved compressor wheel assembly (12) for a turbo-charger or the like includes a centrifugal compressor wheel (14) having a boreless hub (22) to substantially improve wheel fatigue life. The compressor wheel (14) is formed as by casting to include an integral and internally threaded mounting sleeve (42) extending coaxially from the boreless hub (22). In the assembly, the mounting sleeve (42) extends through an opening (18) in a compressor backplate (20) for threaded connection to a turbocharger shaft (16), with a thrust collar spacer (56) being interposed between axially facing shoulders (62, 64) defined respectively on the mounting sleeve (42) and shaft (16) to ensure accurate axial positioning of the components. An annular seal flange (72) on the thrust collar spacer (56) extends axially into the backplate opening (18) in generally concentric spaced relation about the mounting sleeve (42). This seal flange (72) is adapted to carry one or more seal rings (76) for engaging the backplate (20), thereby sealing the passage of the mounting sleeve (42) and shaft (16) through the backplate opening (18).
(FR) Un ensemble à roue de turbocompresseur (12) amélioré comporte une roue de compresseur centrifuge (14) munie d'un moyeu sans alésage (22) destinée à prolonger sensiblement sa résistance à la fatigue. La roue (14) est réalisée par coulée et comporte un manchon de montage à filetage interne (42) s'étendant coaxialement depuis le moyeu sans alésage (22). L'ensemble est caractérisé par le fait que le manchon de montage (42) s'étend à travers une ouverture (18) ménagée dans une plaque de fond du compresseur (20) et est ensuite vissé sur un arbre de turbocompresseur (16), une entretoise annulaire de butée (56) étant intercalée entre des épaulements (62, 64) faisant face à l'axe, définis respectivement sur le manchon de montage (42) et l'arbre (16) pour permettre un positionnement axial précis desdits éléments. Une bride annulaire d'étanchéité (72) située sur l'entretoise (56) s'étend axialement dans l'ouverture (18) de la plaque de fond, et est sitée de manière sensiblement concentrique par rapport au manchon de montage (42). Ladite bride (72) est adaptée pour porter une ou plusieurs bagues d'étanchéité (76) prenant appui sur la plaque de fond (20) rendant ainsi étanche le passage du manchon de montage (42) et de l'arbre (16) à travers l'ouverture (18) de la plaque de fond.
