Abstract:
(EN) A Methionine N$g(a)-acetyltransferase enzyme has been identified in yeast. The existence of the enzyme defines a gene for methionine N$g(a)-acetyltransferase which may be cloned and altered. Cells expressing the normal or variant forms of this enzyme are valuable tools for determining the amino acid sequence of uncharacterized proteins. Such cells are also valuable tools for expressing a recombinant protein lacking an acetyl group at its $g(a)-amino group.
(FR) Une enzyme de methionine N$g(a)-acétyltransférase a été identifiée dans la levure. L'existence de l'enzyme définit un gène pour la méthionine N$g(a)-acétyltransférase qui peut être clonée et altérée. Des cellules exprimant les formes normales ou les variantes de forme de cette enzyme sont des outils de valeur pour déterminer la séquence d'acides aminés de protéines non caractérisées. De telles cellules sont également des outils efficaces pour exprimer une protéine de recombinaison manquant d'un groupe acétyl au niveau de son groupe $g(a)-amino.
