Abstract:
(EN) Thermally bonded fabrics having high normalized tensile strength are disclosed. Blends of high molecular weight linear ethylene polymers and low molecular weight linear ethylene polymers provide improved staple fiber-forming capabilities over that found with either polymer taken alone. Staple fibers formed from the blends have Q values above 4.5 and/or I10/I2 values above 7. The staple fibers formed from the blends of high molecular weight linear ethylene polymers and low molecular weight linear ethylene polymers have a broader thermal bonding window than either linear ethylene polymer taken alone. At least one of the linear ethylene polymers useful for blending for forming staple fiber can be a higher alpha-olefin in the C3-C12 range, preferably in the C3-C8 range.
(FR) Des tissus thermoliés présentant une résistance à la traction normalisée élevée, sont décrits. Des mélanges de polymères d'éthylène linéaires de masse moléculaire élevée et de polymères d'étylène linéaires de masse moléculaire faible permettent d'obtenir des capacités de formation de fibres discontinues supérieures par rapport à celles des deux polymères pris seuls. Les fibres discontinues formées à partir des mélanges présentent des valeurs Q supérieures à 4,5 et/ou des valeurs I10/I2 supérieures à 7. Les fibres discontinues formées à partir des mélanges de polymères d'éthylène linéaires de masse moléculaire élevée et de polymères d'éthylène linéaires de masse moléculaire faible, présentent une fenêtre de liage thermique plus large que les deux polymères d'éthylène linéaires pris seuls. Au moins un des polymères d'éthylène linéaires utiles pour obtenir un mélange permettant de former des fibres discontinues, peut être une alpha-oléfine supérieure située dans la plage comprise entre 3 et 12 atomes de carbone, de préférence dans la plage située entre 3 et 8 atomes de carbone.
