Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to a process for making nitrile rubber characterized by being essentially gel-free and at least about 90 % saturated. The process comprising reacting an ethylenically unsaturated polymer in latex form, hydrazine, and an oxidant, followed by coagulation and filtration in order to isolate the reduced rubber. The process utilizes a reaction mixture containing a high molar ratio of hydrazine to unsaturated polymer.
(FR) Procédé de fabrication de caoutchouc nitrile caractérisé en ce qu'il est exempt de gel et en ce qu'il est saturé à au moins environ 90 %. Le procédé consiste à faire réagir un polymère à insaturation éthylénique sous forme de latex, de l'hydrazine et un oxydant, puis on procède à la coagulation et à la filtration afin d'isoler le caoutchouc réduit. Le procédé utilise un mélange de réaction contenant un rapport molaire élevé entre l'hydrazine et le polymère insaturé.
