Abstract:
(EN) A process for the production of lower molecular weight polymers by free radical polymerization, characterized in that there is added to the polymerization system a compound of general formula (I), wherein R1 is hydrogen, chlorine, an alkyl group, or a group capable of activating the vinylic carbon towards free radical addition; R2 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, cycloalkenyl or cycloalkyl group or the group -COZ, where Z is R3 or OR3, where R3 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group. X is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or aryl group, or a halogen, and the two X groups may be the same or different. The invention also includes polymers or oligomers made by the process and novel compounds of general formula (I) as defined above.
(FR) Le procédé décrit, qui sert à produire des polymères de poids moléculaire inférieur par la technique de la polymérisation par radicaux libres, se caractérise en ce qu'on ajoute au système de polymérisation un composé représenté par la formule générale (I), où R1 représente l'hydrogène, du chlore, un groupe alkyle ou un groupe capable d'activer le carbone vinylique en vue de l'addition de radicaux libres; R2 représente l'hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle, alkényle, aryle, cycloalkényle ou cycloalkyle éventuellement substitués ou le groupe -COZ, où Z représente R3 ou OR3, R3 représentant l'hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle, alkényle ou aryle éventuellement substitué; X représente un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe alkyle ou aryle ou un halogène, et les deux groupes X peuvent être identiques ou différents. L'invention se rapporte également à des polymères ou des oligomères fabriqués selon ce procédé, ainsi qu'à de nouveaux composés représentés par la formule génerale (I) définie ci-dessus. 524
