Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus and system for the dehydrogenation of ethane to produce ethylene and hydrogen through the use of a catalytic ceramic membrane, which is materially more permeable to hydrogen and less permeable to ethane and ethylene, the catalytic ceramic membrane being in a cylindrical form which has been treated to have a metallic catalyst or suitable metal, deposited on the surface adjacent to the reaction zone. The catalytic ceramic membrane tube (39) is enclosed within an alloy tube (40) of suitable composition to permit heating to the temperature range of 300° to 650 °C. The annulus (41) surrounding the ceramic membrane tube may be filled with a pelleted catalyst (62), thus causing the dehydrogenation reaction to take place within this annular zone, but which will be accelerated by the permeation of hydrogen out of the zone through the ceramic catalytic membrane. The reactor is connected to a recovery system which permits separation of pure ethylene and unconverted ethane, and an additional stream of product hydrogen.
(FR) Appareil et système de déshydrogénation d'éthane permettant de produire de l'éthylène et de l'hydrogène par l'emploi d'une membrane céramique catalytique, laquelle est matériellement plus perméable à l'hydrogène et moins perméable à l'éthane ainsi qu'à l'éthylène, la membrane céramique catalytique se présentant sous une forme cylindrique ayant été traitée pour permettre le dépot d'un catalyseur métallique ou d'un métal adapté sur la surface adjacente à la zone de réaction. Le tube (39) de la membrane céramique catalytique est situé à l'intérieur d'un tube (40) en alliage d'une composition adaptée pour permettre le chauffage à la plage de températures comprises entre 300 et 650 °C. L'anneau (41) entourant le tube de la membrane céramique, peut être rempli d'un catalyseur (62) sous forme de pellets, provoquant ainsi la réaction de déshydrogénation à l'intérieur de cette zone annulaire, mais laquelle est accélérée par l'infiltration d'hydrogène sortant de la zone, au travers de la membrane catalytique céramique. Le réacteur est raccordé à un système de récupération, lequel permet la séparation d'éthylène pur et d'éthane non converti ainsi que d'un flux supplémentaire d'hydrogène produit.
