Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed is a self-contained, rapid cooling device (10) that can be stored for indefinite periods without losing its cooling potential. A liquid in a first chamber (12) undergoes a change of phase into vapor which cools the first chamber (12). A sorbent (24) in a second chamber (20) is in fluid communication with the vapor and removes the vapor from the first chamber. A heat sink material (25) thermally coupled to the sorbent collects and irreversibly captures heat transferred from the vapor to the sorbent.
(FR) On décrit un dispositif réfrigérant (10) autonome et à fonctionnement rapide pouvant être stocké pendant des périodes illimitées sans pour autant perdre sa capacité réfrigérante. Un liquide qui se trouve dans une première enceinte (12) subit un changement de phase et devient une vapeur qui refroidit ladite première enceinte (12). Un sorbant (24) situé dans une deuxième enceinte (20) se trouve en communication fluidique avec la vapeur et enlève la vapeur de la première enceinte. Un matériau dissipateur de chaleur (25) thermiquement couplé au sorbant récupère et retient de manière irréversible la chaleur transférée de la vapeur au sorbant.
