Abstract:
(EN) A boom (10) for collecting material floating on the surface of a body of water comprises a first collapsible tube (16) which can be stored either as flat layers of folded material or by rolling it on a roller (R). Transverse seals (15) are provided along the length of the tube (16) to provide a longitudinal sequence of compartments. A plurality of chemicals (19a, 19b) are disposed in each compartment, the chemicals (19a, 19b), when mixed, being capable of producing an inflating gas. One of the chemicals (19b) is disposed in a plastic pouch (20) which is frangible under pressure applied to the rollers (R) during the deployment of the boom from its stored condition. In a modification, a small collapsible tube (30) is provided to supply pressurized gas to all of the compartments, thus inflating any compartment that is underinflated by the gas produced by chemical mixture.
(FR) Le barrage décrit (10), qui sert à recueillir des substances flottant à la surface de l'eau, comprend un premier tube repliable (16) qui peut être rangé soit sous la forme de couches plates repliées soit en étant enroulé sur un rouleau (R). Des joints d'étanchéité transversaux (15) sont prévus sur toute la longueur du tube (16), de façon à former une séquence longitudinale de compartiments. Dans chaque compartiment sont disposées plusieurs substances chimiques (19A, 19B) qui, lorsqu'elles sont mélangées, produisent un gaz de gonflage. L'une des substances chimiques (19b) est disposée dans une poche plastique (20) qui se casse lors de l'application de pression sur les rouleaux (R) pendant le déploiement du barrage à partir de sa position repliée ou enroulée. Dans une variante, un petit tube repliable (30) est prévu pour acheminé le gaz pressurisé dans tous les compartiments, ce qui permet au gaz produit par le mélange des substances chimiques de gonfler tout compartiment insuffisamment gonflé.
