Abstract:
(EN) Toxic metal contaminants dissolved in dilute aqueous solutions such as waste waters are removed by contact with water insoluble polymeric beads having an internal pore structure containing immobilized extractant material capable of sorbing the metal contaminants. The beads are prepared by forming a solution of a polymeric material in an organic solvent, blending the extractant into the solution and injection the solution through a nozzle into water to form beads. The polymeric material is preferably polysulfone or cellulose acetate, and the extractant may be yeast, algae, penicillium mold, xanthan gum, guar gum, alginate, common duckweed (Lemna sp.) or a chemical compound. A metal of value can be separated from the extractant by using dilute mineral acids or other dilute solutions to solubilize the metal.
(FR) Des agents contaminants métalliques toxiques dissous dans des solutions aqueuses diluées telles que des eaux usées sont éliminés par contact avec des perles polymères insolubles dans l'eau ayant une structure de pores interne contenant un matériau d'extraction immobilisé capable d'effectuer la sorption des agents contaminants métalliques. Les perles sont préparées en formant une solution d'un matériau polymère dans un solvant organique, en mélangeant l'agent d'extraction dans la solution et en injectant la solution à l'aide d'une buse dans de l'eau pour former les perles. Le matériau polymère est de préférence une polysulfone ou de l'acétate de cellulose, et l'agent d'extraction peut être une levure, des algues, de la moisissure de penicillium, de la gomme de xanthane, de la gomme guar, de l'alginate, des lenticulles courantes (Lemne), ou un composant chimique. Un métal de valeur peut être séparé de l'agent d'extraction en utilisant des acides minéraux dilués ou d'autres solutions diluées pour solubiliser le métal.
