Abstract:
(EN) The general field of the invention relates to hydrofoil supported vehicles, and an asymmetrically arranged hydrofoil (36) and propeller (28) system is disclosed for improving the speed and lift of watercraft (22) such as amphibious vehicles. When the vehicle (22) is propelled through water by propellers (28), downwash of water from the upper surfaces of the asymmetrically arranged hydrofoils (36) is intercepted by upwardly moving propeller blades (46) which improves the speed, lift and efficiency of the watercraft.
(FR) Le champ général de l'invention concerne des véhicules supportés par des ailerons porteurs, ainsi qu'un système d'ailerons porteurs (36) et d'hélices (28) agencées de manière asymétrique, améliorant la vitesse et la sustentation de navires (22) telles que des véhicules amphibies.
