Abstract:
(EN) The barrel assembly of the heat exchanger is manufactured with abutment joints between the housing and the headers (34) thereof, and is clamped together along the axis of the assembly by rod (54) extending through the respective headers (34), and the housing, parallel to the axis, so that the housing is not vulnerable to 'blowing its ends' when under pressure. The housing is also free draining at the discharge header when relieved of pressure, and this combination of features is made possible in part by the use of an insertable fluid flow cartridge for the housing which provides the tubing for one of the fluids and baffling for the other fluid when the latter fluid is circulated through the housing.
(FR) Le tambour de l'échangeur thermique de la présente invention est fabriqué avec des joints en about placés entre le logement et les pièces de tête (34) du tambour et est maintenu serré le long de son axe par une tige (54) traversant les pièces de tête respectives (34) et le logement, parallèlement à l'axe, de sorte que le logement ne soit pas exposé aux risques d'éclatement de ses extrémités lorqu'il est sous pression. Le logement permet également un drainage libre au niveau de la tête de décharge, lorsqu'il est libéré de la pression, et cette combinaison de caractéristiques est rendue possible en partie grâce à l'utilisation d'une cartouche à courant de fluide insérable pour le logement, qui sert de conduite pour l'un des fluides et de chicane pour l'autre fluide, lorsque ce dernier circule à travers le logement.
