Abstract:
(EN) A fluid flow control apparatus is described in which a removable sterilisable or disposable element is provided and in which the pressure of the fluid inlet and fluid outlet of the filter unit are monitored and the pressures are compared and used to control the pressure across the filter unit. This is particularly suitable for cross-flow filtration which is a procedure whereby the process fluid is recirculated over the membrane surface. Pressure is measured by bleeding the inlet conduit through an inlet bleed conduit (62) which includes a pressure switch (67) and pressure transducer (65). The outlet conduit containing the retentate also has a bleed line (78) and a post-membrane pressure transducer (84) is inserted in the second bleed off line. With this arrangement the inlet and outlet pressures can be monitored and the pressure values are averaged in use to control the pressure switch or valve so as to maintain optimal control of the transmembrane pressure and optimise filtration for the particular fluids and membranes used.
(FR) On décrit un appareil servant à régler l'écoulement d'un fluide, lequel contient un élément détachable stérilisable ou jetable, et dans lequel la pression des orifices d'entrée et de sortie de fluide de l'unité de filtration est contrôlée et les pressions sont comparées et utilisées pour régler la pression dans l'unité de filtration. L'appareil est particulièrement utile lors de la filtration à courant transversal, dans laquelle le fluide du procédé est recirculé sur la surface de la membrane. On mesure la pression en montant sur la canalisation d'entrée une canalisation d'entrée de fluide soutiré (62) qui comprend un commutateur de pression (67) et un capteur de pression (65). La canalisation de sortie contenant le fluide retenu possède également une ligne de soutirage (78) et un capteur de pression (84) en aval de la membrane est introduit dans la deuxième ligne de fluide soutiré. Grâce à cet agencement on contrôle les pressions d'entrée et de sortie, dont on calcule les valeurs moyennes que l'on utilise pour régler la soupape ou commutateur de pression afin de maintenir un réglage optimal de la pression à travers la membranes et d'optimiser la filtration en fonction des fluides et des membranes utilisés.
