This invention relates to a production method and apparatus for improving the quality of yarns spun by a spinning frame or the like and improving its productivity. In a known fore-spinning machine or ring spinning, napping increases due to the centrifugal force resulting from revolution at the time of twisting and take-up and the tensile strength of the spun yarns drops remarkably. This invention solves this problem. The production method of the present invention is characterized in that a suction-twisting pipe (S) including generation means of air eddy flow is mounted at a delivery point of a drafted sliver (F) so that the drafted slivers (F) can be sucked by the suction force and at the same time, the slivers (F) are contracted and turned in such a manner as to be gathered in a bundle form. The production apparatus of the present invention is characterized in that a ring member (H) having resilience is fitted to part of the suction-twisting pipe (S) described above, the other end portion is fixed onto the beam (B) of the front surface of the spinning frame and the suction-twisting pipe (S) is supported in such a manner as to be capable of rocking.
