A novel process for preparing antibacterial intermediates, such as for preparing the antibacterial compound thiamphenicol, is disclosed which utilizes a $g(g)-glutamyl hydrolase to selectively hydrolyze a racemic mixture of D-threo and L-threo phenylserines.

Selon un nouveau procédé de préparation d'intermédiaires bactéricides, par exemple de préparation du composé bactéricide thiamphénicol, on utilise une hydrolase de $g(g)-glutamyle afin d'hydrolyser sélectivement un mélange racémique de D-thréophénylsérines et de L-thréophénylsérines.
