Abstract

Disclosed are hybrid protease inhibitors which are non immunogenic and reactive with an active site of a protease in an organism. Also featured are methods for constructing hybrid protease inhibitors which are formed from a nonimmunogenic carrier polypeptide which has an internal portion of its amino acid sequence replaced or expanded with a synthetic peptide which interacts with the active site of a protease and is complementary to the active site of the protease. Methods for inhibiting the reaction between a naturally occurring protein and an active site of a protease for said naturally occurring protein utilizing such a hybrid protease inhibitor are also disclosed.

L'invention décrit des inhibiteurs de protéase hybrides, qui sont non immunogènes et qui réagissent avec un site actif d'une protéase dans un organisme. Sont également décrits des procédés d'élaboration d'inhibiteurs de protéase hybrides, qui sont formés à partir d'un polypeptide porteur non immunogène dont une partie interne de sa séquence d'acides aminés est remplacée ou prolongée par un peptide synthétique agissant en interaction avec le site actif d'une protéase et complémentaire de ce site actif de la protéase. Des procédés d'inhibition de la réaction entre une protéine naturelle et un site actif d'une protéase de cette protéine naturelle, qui utilisent un tel inhibiteur de protéase hybride, sont également décrits.
