Certain organobromines are added to blends of polyphenylene ether and alkenyl aromatic polymer to reduce mold cool time of the composition. These organobromines also reduce residual blowing agent in the composition after expansion and especially following molding of the composition. The organobromines of this invention are as follows: tetrabromocyclooctane, hexabromocyclododecane, tetrabromovinylcyclohexene and bis(allyl ether) of tetrabromobisphenol.

Certains organobromes sont ajoutés à des mélanges de polyphénylène éther et de polymère aromatique alkényle, de façon à réduire le temps de refroidissement lors du moulage de la composition. Ces organobromes permettent également de réduire la quantité résiduelle d'agents gonflants dans la composition après le processus d'expansion et en particulier après l'opération de moulage de la composition. Les organobromes décrits dans la présente invention sont les suivants: le tétrabromocyclo-octane, l'héxabromocyclododécane, le tétrabromovinylecyclohexène et le bis(allyl éther) de tétrabromobisphénole.
