A stampable sheet made of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin and a molded article produced from the sheet, wherein the reinforcement is a glass fiber mat comprising a nondirectional fiber layer and a unidirectional fiber layer mechanically entangled with each other. The use of 20 to 55 wt% of a glass fiber mat wherein the content of a long glass fiber bundle constituting the unidirectional fiber layer is 20 to 80 wt% and a significant portion of the glass fiber bundle or the glass fiber is in a substantially relaxed state has made it possible to enhance the tensile strengths in all the directions, the molding fluidity of the long glass fiber bundle in the direction of arrangement (reinforcement), and the compression strength in the direction of reinforcement. A molded article produced from the above stampable sheet alone or a laminate thereof is one improved in the tensile strengths in all the directions, the compression strength in the direction of reinforcement, reliability, appearance, and ease of handling.

Feuille d'estampage composée de résine thermoplastique renforcée aux fibres de verre et article moulé fabriqué à partir de celle-ci, où le renforcement est une toile de verre comprenant une couche de fibres non directionnelle et une couche de fibres unidirectionnelle mécaniquement emmêlées l'une à l'autre. L'utilisation de 20 à 55 % en poids d'une toile de verre, dans laquelle le contenu en faisceau allongé de fibres de verre qui constitue la couche de fibres unidirectionnelle est de 20 à 80 % en poids, et dans laquelle une portion importante du faisceau de fibres de verre ou des fibres de verre est à l'état sensiblement relaxé, a rendu possible un accroissement de la résistance à la traction dans tous les sens, de la fluidité de moulage du faisceau allongé de fibres de verre dans le sens de l'arrangement (du renforcement), et de la résistance à la compression dans le sens du renforcement. Un article moulé fabriqué à partir de la feuille d'estampage précitée ou d'un stratifié de celle-ci possède une résistance à la traction dans tous les sens, une résistance à la compression dans le sens du renforcement, une fiabilité et une apparence améliorées, ainsi qu'une plus grande facilité de maniement.
