In the production of extruded icecream bodies it is customary to cut the bodies from an extruded string of icecream when the latter, laying on a conveyor belt, has reached a ''medium frozen'' condition, whereafter the bodies are transferred to a faster moving conveyor, on which they are moved through a hard-freezing zone with a desired mutual spacing between the bodies. According to the invention several advantages are obtained by arranging for the extruded string (6) to run unbroken through a continuous freezing zone, when only constrictions or notches (12) have been provided in the string by transversely moved tool means (8, 20, 22) while the ice substance is still formable; after the hard-freezing of the string the single bodies (P) are separated from the string by a simple successive breaking action on the front end of the string, and the desired distance between the individual bodies can be produced by letting the bodies fall down onto a conveyor (18) moving at increased speed.

Dans la production de portions de crème glacée du type ''ice-cream'' extrudées on a coutume de couper les portions dans une chaîne extrudée de crème glacée, une fois que la chaîne, placée sur une bande transporteuse a atteint un état congelé moyen, après quoi les portions sont transférées sur un transporteur se déplaçant plus rapidement, sur lequel elles sont acheminées à travers une zone de congélation à l'état dur avec entre elles un espacement désiré. La présente invention permet d'obtenir plusieurs avantages, en prévoyant que la chaîne extrudée (6) avance non sectionnée à travers une zone de congélation en continu, avec seulement des étranglements ou des encoches (12) pratiqués dans la chaîne par des outils à déplacement transversal (8, 20, 22), pendant que la crème glacée se trouve toujours dans un état façonnable. Après la congélation à l'état dur de la chaîne, chaque portion (P) est séparée de la chaîne par une simple force de rupture appliquée successivement sur l'extrémité frontale de la chaîne, et on peut obtenir la distance désirée entre les portions en les laissant tomber sur un transporteur (18) se déplaçant à une vitesse accrue.
