Abstract
(EN)
A high-performance quadratic nonlinear optical element which can exhibit a large nonlinear optical effect. The element contains a part which comprises a non-centrosymmetric monoclinic crystal, belonging to the space group Cc and the point group #9, of 4'-nitrobenzylidene-3-alkanoylamino-4-methoxyaniline of formula (I) or derivatives thereof wherein at least part of the hydrogen atoms are deuterated, and which is provided with at least one substantially optically flat surface which admits or transmits rays of light having a large electric oscillation vector component in the direction of the axis of maximum absorption present in the ac face of a nuclear crystal. In formula (I) R represents a C1 or C2 alkyl or haloalkyl.

Elément optique quadratique non linéaire à performances élevées, présentant un important effet optique non linéaire. L'élément contient une partie comprenant un cristal monoclinique non centrosymétrique, appartenant au groupe spatial Cc et au groupe ponctuel #9, de 4'nitrobenzylidène-3-alcanoylamino-4-méthoxyaniline selon la formule (I) ou ses dérivés, où au moins une partie des atomes d'hydrogène dont deutérés, et comportant au moins une surface sensiblement optiquement plate qui accepte ou transmet des rayons lumineux présentant une composante vectorielle d'oscillation électrique importante dans le sens de l'axe d'absorption maximale dans la face ac d'un cristal nucléaire. Dans la formule, R représente un haloalkyle ou un alkyle comportant de 1 à 2 C.
