Abstract

A universal fluid line interlocking connector is disclosed (10, 20). The connector (10) may be fitted to an identical connector (20) so as to interconnect two fluid lines. The connector (10) does away with the requirements for both male and female components and provides a housing (10) having a locking lug (15) located at a maximum diameter position. The locking lug (15) has a claw position (18) located at its remote end. A seal (12) is provided radially internally of the locking lug (15). The seal (12) reacts to internal fluid pressure of the connector (10) to provide a tighter seal as pressure increases. One half of the connector (20) may be threadingly fastened to a fluid control device or outlet, or formed integrally with a fluid delivery means such as a spray nozzle for example, while the other half (10) is sealingly secured to an end of a fluid line (42) by means of a retaining claw (43) which is tightened onto the fluid line (42) by means of a retaining ring (44). The connectors (10, 20) are joined by inserting the locking lug (15) of each connector (10, 20) into the recess (19) of the other and rotating one of the connectors (10, 20). Each recess (19) provides an annular ramp with a crest such that positive locking occurs when the connectors are joined.

L'invention se rapporte à un raccord universel à emboîtement (10, 20) pour conduites de fluide. Le raccord (10) peut être raccordé à un raccord identique (20), de façon à relier entre elles deux conduites de fluide. Le raccord (10) élimine la nécessité de recourir à des éléments mâle et femelle et forme un logement (10) comportant une bride de blocage (15) disposée dans une position radiale maximum. La bride de blocage (15) comporte une dent (18) à son extrémité distale. Un joint d'étanchéité (12) est situé radialement à l'intérieur de la bride de blocage (15). Le joint d'étanchéité (12) réagit à la pression de fluide interne du raccord (10), de façon à former un joint toujours plus étanche au fur et à mesure que la pression augmente. Une moitié du raccord (20) peut être fixée par filetage à un dispositif ou à une sortie de régulation du fluide ou peut faire corps avec un organe de distribution du fluide, tel qu'un bec de vaporisation, tandis que l'autre moitié (10) est fixée par scellement étanche à une extrémité d'une conduite de fluide (42) au moyen d'un crampon de retenue (43) qui est plaqué sur la conduite de fluide (42) au moyen d'une bague de retenue (44). Les raccords (10, 20) sont assemblés par introduction de la bride de blocage (15) de chaque raccord (10, 20) dans l'évidement (19) de l'autre raccord et par rotation de l'un des raccords (10, 20). Chaque évidement (19) forme une rampe annulaire présentant une crête, de sorte qu'un blocage positif se produit lors de l'assemblage des raccords.
