Title
(EN) ANTIBODY TO P. FALCIPARUM ANTIGEN AND HYBRIDOMA FOR MAKING SAME
(FR) ANTICORPS RECONNAISSANT L'ANTIGENE DU PLASMODIUM FALCIPARUM ET HYBRIDOME SERVANT A LA FABRICATION D'UN TEL ANTICORPS
Abstract
(EN)
The present invention provides a monoclonal antibody highly specific for a 45 kd glycoprotein, which is produced in, and exposed on the surface of, human erythrocytes infected with Plasmodium falciparum. The invention further provides cultures of hybridomas for making the monoclonal antibody of the invention. The monoclonal antibody of the invention is useful for immunoaffinity purification of the 45 kd glycoprotein antigen, which the antibody recognizes, and for diagnosis of malaria.
(FR)
