Abstract

A material discharge unit for separating lightweight elements of substantial size, such as paper or card trimmings, from a conveying air stream has a perforate duct (10) in a housing (11), with a perforate bend (12) at a discharge end of the duct (10). A baffle causes the conveying air stream and elements to impinge on an outside wall of the bend (12) at an acute angle. The trimmings are carried around the bend to discharge at C, while the air stream continues onward out of the housing (11) at B. The improvement resides in providing a mechanism (25) for adjusting the baffle plate angle while the unit is in operation. Also, readily openable panels (16, 18) are provided in the underside of the duct (10) and housing (11) to facilitate cleaning.

Système d'évacuation de déchets pour séparer les éléments légers d'une certaine dimension, par exemple chutes de papier ou de carton, de la veine d'air qui les transporte. Ce système se compose d'un conduit perforé (10) placé dans un logement (11) et formant un coude, lui aussi percé de perforations (12) à son extrémité de sortie (10). Un butoir fait que la veine d'air et les éléments qu'elle transporte viennent se heurter à angle aigu à une paroi extérieure de ce coude (12). Les chutes sont transportées dans le coude pour s'évacuer au point C, tandis que la veine d'air continue sa progression á l'extérieur du logement (11) au point B. L'amélioration consiste à prévoir un mécanisme (25) servant à régler l'angle du butoir de déviation pendant le fonctionnement du système. Elle prévoit en outre des panneaux qui s'ouvrent facilement (16, 18) situés sur la surface inférieure du conduit (10) et du logement (11) pour en faciliter le nettoyage.
