Abstract
(EN)
The toxin from $i(Pasteurella multocida), which causes atrophic rhinitis in pigs, has been characterised and been shown to be highly mitogenic. It may be used to accelerate cell growth (in fermentations, in bone marrow to be returned to the patient, and in wounds). Mitogenic fragments of it may be combined with cell-targeting entities, and cell-binding portions of it may be combined with cytotoxic or other pharmacologically active agents. The gene for the toxin has been cloned and expressed in $i(E. coli).
(FR)
