The invention concerns display screens and in particular electron beam indexation display tubes. Conventionally, the screen comprises alternate red and blue bands of luminophores separated from one another by black bands (32) providing a clear boundary between the colours. According to the invention, it is proposed to use metal oxides (manganese, chromium, iron) for the black network; these oxides are preferably used as a substrate beneath a chromium reflecting layer (34). The result is both good colour separation and a screen which only slightly reflects the diffuse ambient light. The use of these oxides is, moveover, perfectly compatible with vacuum deposition methods and fine photogravure, making it possible to obtain better resolution than with conventional colour television screens (using shadow masks), which make use of graphite.

L'invention concerne les écrans de visualisation, et plus particulièrement pour les tubes de visualisation à indexation de faisceau électronique. L'écran comporte classiquement des bandes de luminophores de couleurs rouges verts bleus alternées, séparées les unes des autres par des bandes noires (32) servant à assurer une délimitation franche des couleurs. Selon l'invention, on propose d'utiliser pour le réseau noir des oxydes métalliques (manganèse, chrome, fer); de préférence ces oxydes sont utilisés comme sous couche au dessous d'une couche réfléchissante de chrome (34). Il en résulte à la fois une bonne séparation des couleurs et un écran ne réfléchissant que peu la lumière diffuse ambiante. D'autre part, l'utilisation de ces oxydes est parfaitement compatible avec des techniques de dépôt sous vide et de photogravure fine, permettant d'obtenir une meilleure résolution que celle des écrans de télévision couleur classique (à 'shadow mask' ou masque d'ombre) qui utilisent du graphite.
