Um ein Verfahren zum Auftragen einer Schicht aus keramischem Material auf ein Substrat durch Plasmaspritzen, bei welchem das Material als Spritzgut dem Plasmastrahl zugesetzt wird, wobei das Material eine chemische Verbindung umfaßt, von welcher ein Bestandteil ein nichtmetallisches Element aus der Gruppe N, C, B oder aus der sechsten oder siebten Hauptgruppe ist, welche vor Erreichen des Schmelzpunkts in inerter Umgebung sich zumindest teilweise zersetzt und welche im aufgetragenen Zustand in der festen Phase vorliegt, derart zu verbessern, daß dievon dem Material umfaßte chemische Verbindung stöchiometrisch, d.h. nicht zersetzt, auf dem Substrat aufgetragen werden kann und eine dichte, festhaftende und stabile Schicht bildet, wird vorgeschlagen, daß in dem Plasmastrahl zusätzlich zu dem Spritzgut das nicht-metallische Element in freier, nicht an ein Fremdelement gebundener Form mitgeführt wird.

Process for applying a coating of ceramic material on a substrate by plasma spraying. The material to be sprayed, which is incorporated in the plasma jet, includes a chemical compound one constituent of which is a nonmetallic element from the group N, C, B or from main groups VI or VII of the periodic classification, which decomposes, at least partially, in an inert environment before reaching the melting point and which is present in the solid phase in the applied state. To improve the process so that the chemical compound contained in the material can be applied to the substrate stoichiometrically, i.e., undecomposed, and form an impermeable, adherent, stable coating, the non-metallic element is incorporated in the plasma jet, in addition to the material to be sprayed, in a free form, not bound to a foreign element.

Est décrit un procédé pour appliquer un revêtement de matériau céramique sur un substrat par projection au plasma. Le matériau à projeter, lequel est incorporé dans le jet de plasma, renferme un composé chimique dont un constituant est un élément non métallique du groupe N, C, B, ou bien des groupes principaux VI ou VII de la classification périodique, qui se décompose, au moins partiellement, dans une atmosphère inerte avant d'atteindre le point de fusion et qui est présent dans la phase solide à l'état appliqué. Dans le but d'améliorer le procédé de sorte que le composé chimique contenu dans le matériau puisse être appliqué sur le substrat sous forme st÷chiométrique, c'est-à-dire non décomposée, et forme un revêtement stable, imperméable et adhérent, l'élément non métallique est incorporé dans le jet de plasma, en plus du matériau à projeter, sous une forme libre, non liée à un élément étranger.
