Abstract

A cold curing polyurethane composition containing as a curing component an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer prepared by reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a polyol mainly comprising a polyoxyalkylene polyol having a molecular weight of 1,500 to 15,000 per unit hydroxyl group and a total degree of unsaturation of 0.07 meq/g or less. Such a polyoxyalkylene polyol is produced preferably by the ring-opening addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide with an initiator in the presence of a double metal cyanide complex catalyst. This composition gives a highly flexible cured article by curing the same with an atmospheric moisture. The use of a high-molecular polyoxyalkylene polyol as the curing agent gives a similar highly flexible cured article. This composition is useful as a sealant or a waterproofing material.

Préparation de polyuréthane polymérisant à froid, contenant comme composant de polymérisation un prépolymère de polyuréthane à terminaison isocyanate obtenu par la réaction d'un polyisocyanate organique avec un polyol comprenant principalement un polyol de polyoxyalkylène présentant un poids moléculaire compris entre 1500 et 15000 par groupe hydroxyle unitaire et un degré total d'insaturation inférieur ou égal à 0,07 meq/g. On produit ce polyol de polyoxyalkylène de préférence par polymérisation par addition à ouverture de noyau d'un oxyde d'alkylène avec une molécule parente en présence d'un catalyseur à base d'un complexe de cyanure de métal double. La présente préparation permet d'obtenir un article polymérisé très flexible, grâce à la polymérisation avec un degré d'humidité atmosphérique. L'utilisation d'un polyol de polyoxyalkylène en tant qu'agent de polymérisation permet d'obtenir des articles polymérisés présentant le même degré élevé de flexibilité. Cette préparation est utilisée comme agent de scellement ou comme substance d'imperméabilisation.
