Abstract

A method of modifying a binder in order to adapt it to increase the tendency to react with other materials. The binder contains silicon dioxide, which in a known manner is dissolved and reformed during formation of a hardened or polymerized body, i.e. a so-called polymer silicate of the main type which, in principle, includes water glass and quartz (SiO2) in finely divided form, and with addition of an active silicon compound in the form of highly dispersed, finely divided, amorphous/polymer SiO2 prior to hardening or polymerization in a quantity of between 3 and 5 per cent by weight, calculated on the total dry weight of the included substances, as well as a water-absorbing and hardening agent, such as for example sodium hexafluorosilicate. The method according to the invention consists in that prior to or during the whole or part of the hardening of polymerization of the binder, the anion-cation content of the binder and/or the distribution thereof in relation to the material or materials to be bonded by the binder is changed, or conversely the anion-cation content of the material or materials to be bonded by the binder and/or the distribution thereof is changed, or that a combination of these actions is performed. The said anion-cation content is adapted so that essentially no surplus of the said anion-cation content exists after hardening or polymerization.

Procédé pour modifier un liant de manière à augmenter sa tendance à réagir avec d'autres matières. Ledit liant comprend du dioxyde de silicium qui est dissous, d'une manière connue, et reformé pendant la formation d'un corps durci ou polymérisé, par exemple un silicate dit de polymère du type principal qui, en principe, comprend du verre soluble et du quartz (SiO2) finement divisé, et avec l'adjonction d'un composé de silicium actif sous forme de SiO2 amorphe/polymère fortement dispersé et finement divisé avant le durcissement ou la polymérisation, dans une quantité comprise entre 3 et 5 % en poids, calculé en fonction du poids à sec des matières incluses, ainsi qu'un agent hydrophile de durcissement, par exemple l'hexafluorosilicate de sodium. Selon l'invention, le procédé consiste en ce qu'avant ou pendant le durcissement ou la polymérisation totale ou partielle du liant, on modifie le contenu anion-cation dudit liant et/ou sa distribution par rapport à la matière ou aux matières à lier; inversement, on peut modifier le contenu anion-cation de la matière ou des matières à lier et/ou leur distribution, ou on peut effectuer une combinaison de ces mesures. Ledit contenu anion-cation est adapté de sorte qu'essentiellement il ne reste aucun excédent dudit contenu après durcissement ou polymérisation.
