Abstract

A dental laser assembly having a housing (12) with a first and second laser cavity. The housing also includes an optical output port (18) and a dental optical delivery system (100) optically connected to the port. A first laser (14) is contained within a first laser cavity which, when activated, generates a first laser beam while, similarly, a second laser (16) is contained within a second laser cavity which, when activated, generates a second laser beam. Only one laser, however, is activated at a given time and the output beam from the activated laser is directed to the optical output port in the housing for use in dental applications. The first laser has optical qualities sufficient to perform a first set of dental procedures which the second laser has optical qualities sufficient to perform a second and different set of dental procedures.

L'unité à laser dentaire possède un logement (12) ayant des première et seconde cavités à laser. Le logement comprend également un orifice de sortie optique (18) et un système d'apport optique dentaire (100) qui est connecté optiquement à l'orifice. Un premier laser (14) est contenu dans la première cavité à laser qui, lorsqu'elle est activée, génère un premier rayon laser, et un second laser (16) est contenu dans une seconde cavité à laser laquelle, lorsqu'elle est activée, génère un second rayon laser. Cependant, seul un laser est activé à un moment donné et le rayon de sortie provenant de la cavité à laser activé est dirigé sur l'orifice de sortie optique dans le logement pour des applications dentaires.
