Abstract

A flow control (10) for controlling the rate of flow of a fluid through a flow passage over a range of varying line pressures resembles a Belleville washer and is molded from a thermoplastic elastomer having a hardness range from 40 Shore A to 50 Shore D. The control has a circumferential outer rim (13) and a dome-shaped contour within the rim (13) which provides an apex (12), a concave downstream surface and a convex upstream surface, with the fluid flow passage (11) extending through its apex. This flow control does not require interaction with a specifically designed seat but can simply be mounted across the flow passage which it is to control by retaining its rim portion upstream from the flow passage to be controlled.

Un dispositif de réglage de débit (10) pour régler le débit d'un liquide à travers un orifice de passage selon une gamme variée de pressions de ligne ressemble à une rondelle Belleville et est moulé dans un élastomère thermoplastique ayant une gamme de dureté comprise entre 40 Shore A et 50 Shore D. Le dispositif de réglage possède un bord externe de circonférence (13) et un contour en forme de coupole à l'intérieur du bord (13) qui forme un sommet (12), une surface concave en aval et une surface convexe amont, l'orifice de passage de liquide (11) se prolongeant à travers son sommet. Ce réglage de débit ne nécessite pas d'interaction avec un siège conçu spécialement mais peut être simplement fixé à travers l'orifice de passage à régler par le maintien de son segment de bord en amont de l'orifice de passage à régler.
