Abstract:
(EN) An acoustic coupler combined with an ultrasound probe, made of a gel a part of which is hardened for providing holding means for holding the probe for lifting up the probe with the coupler and another part of which is used to an acoustically transparent path between the probe and a surface of an object to be acoustically inspected. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a typical material for the gel, and the coupler is fabricated by molding a PVA solution by partially increasing concentration of PVA and/or a repeating frequency of refrigerating and thawing the PVA solution, compared with those for the transparent path, in a molding process of the coupler.
(FR) Coupleur acoustique combiné avec une sonde à ultrasons, composé d'un gel dont une partie est durcie pour former un support permettant de soulever la sonde avec le coupleur, et dont une autre partie est utilisée pour former un chemin acoustiquement transparent entre la sonde et la surface d'un objet que l'on veut contrôler acoustiquement. Le gel est constitué de préférence d'alcool polyvinylique (PVA). Le procédé de moulage du coupleur consiste à mouler une solution de PVA, en augmentant partiellement la concentration de PVA et/ou en soumettant la solution de PVA à une série de cycles de congélation et décongélation.
