Abstract

A medical material, an intermediate (polymeric material) therefor and a process for their production are disclosed. The medical material comprises a polymeric material having many epoxy groups bound to the functional groups of a polymer having functional groups capable of binding with an epoxy group and to the amino group of a compound having two or more amino groups whose amino group not binding with an epoxy group is bound to an epoxy group of a heparin derivative wherein the epoxy group of an epoxy compound having two or more epoxy groups is bound to the amino groups of heparin. This material carries heparin in a large amount without losing its activity and has excellent biocompatibility. The intermediate and the process help to increase the advantages of the above-described medical material.

Substance pour applications médicales, un intermédiaire (substance polymère) et procédé de production de ces substances. Ladite substance pour applications médicales comprend une substance polymère possédant beaucoup de groupes époxy liés aux groupes fonctionnels d'un polymère dont les groupes fonctionnels peuvent se lier à un groupe époxy et un groupe amino d'un composé comportant deux ou plusieurs groupes amino dont le groupe amino ne se liant pas à un groupe époxy est lié au groupe époxy d'un dérivé d'héparine dans lequel le groupe époxy d'un composé époxy comportant deux ou plusieurs groupes époxy est lié aux groupes amino d'héparine. Cette substance présente une forte teneur en héparine sans perdre son activité et est dotée d'une excellente biocompatibilité. La substance intermédiaire et le procédé permettent d'accroître les avantages que présente la substance pour applications médicales susmentionée.
