Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus for printing Braille in paper, comprises means (1) for transporting paper (2), an elongated die (4), a carriage (3) movable along the die which carries a hammer (8) with a printing head (9) and which at operating the hammer cooperates with the die (4) for forming an embossment of a Braille character in the paper (2) and a controlling unit, which, in accordance with signals representing letters and other characters, controls the carriage, the hammer and the means for transporting paper. The die (4) is provided with a row of substantially half-spherical projections (12) aligned with each other and arranged in groups of two with intermediate distances in accordance with the horizontal intermediate distances between the embossments in Braille. The printing head of the hammer further has an indentation (10) complementary to the projections.
(FR) Un appareil servant à imprimer des caractères en Braille dans du papier comprend un organe (1) de transport du papier (2), une matrice allongée (4), un chariot (3) mobile le long de la matrice, qui porte un marteau (8) pourvu d'une tête d'impression (9) et qui, en mode de fonctionnement du marteau coopère avec la matrice (4) pour former un bosselage d'un caractère en Braille dans le papier (2), ainsi qu'une unité de commande qui, en accord avec des signaux représentant les lettres et autres caractères, commande le chariot, le marteau et l'organe de transport du papier. La matrice (4) est pourvue d'une rangée de saillies essentiellement semi-sphériques (12) alignées entre elles et disposées en groupes de deux avec des distances intermédiaires correspondant aux distances intermédiaires horizontales entre les bosselages en Braille. La tête d'impression du marteau comporte en outre un endentement (10) qui est complémentaire des saillies.
