Abstract:
(EN) An electrical wire comprises an elongate electrical conductor and an insulating mineral layer electrolytically formed on the conductor from a chemically delaminated weathered mica, the mineral forming the mineral layer having a dominant x-ray reflection at approximately 10 Angstroms characteristics of the mica basal spacing. The chemically delaminated weathered mica layer is able to adhere well to the electrical conductor and exhibits good electrical insulating properties at high temperatures. The wire is capable of functioning for long periods at very high temperatures e.g. during a fire, due to the presence of the weathered mica layer.
(FR) Un fil électrique comprend un conducteur électrique allongé et une couche minérale isolante formée par électrolyse sur le conducteur à partir d'un mica effrité ayant subi un clivage chimique, la matière minérale qui forme la couche minérale ayant une réflexion aux rayons X dominante d'approximativement 10 Angströms caractéristiques de l'espacement basal du mica. La couche de mica effrité ayant subi un clivage chimique a la propriété de bien adhérer au conducteur électrique et présente de bonnes propriétés isolantes à des températures élevés. Ledit fil peut fonctionner durant de longues périodes à des températures très élevées, par exemple pennant un incendie, grâce à la présence de la couche de mica effrité.
