Title (EN) A LIVESTOCK FENCE
(FR) CLOTURE POUR BESTIAUX
Abstract:
(EN) A post (10) for erecting a livestock fence (21) having dividing rails (20) supported by a series of the posts (10) has a vertical member (11) adapted to secure the post (10) relative to the ground and an outwardly extending part (13, 14, 18) connected to the vertical member. The outwardly extending part is adapted to support the dividing rails (20) of the fence (21) at its outermost part. When the dividing rails (20) are supported by a series of the said posts (10) to form a fence (21), the dividing rails (20) provide the closest surface to the livestock so confined and are sufficiently remote from the vertical members and of sufficient height above the ground that any confined livestock in close proximity to any one post may not easily strike the lower part of its limbs against the vertical member (11) or the dividing rails (20) during normal handling.
