Abstract:
(EN) A brake modulator has a valve assembly (11) which defines a cylinder bore (15); a stepped plunger (25, 40) is slidingly sealed in the cylinder bore (15) and divides it into two working chambers (30, 43); each working chamber (30, 43) has an inlet (17, 50) and an outlet (22, 51) with a valve seat (18, 45) located therebetween and valve members (20, 47) positioned between each inlet (17, 50) and valve seat (18, 45); each of the valve members (20, 47) is resiliently loaded towards its associated valve seat (18, 45) and abutment means (35, 63) associated with the plunger (25, 40) is adapted to control movement of each valve member (20, 47) in response to axial movement of the plunger (25, 40); means (70) being provided to selectively move said plunger (25, 40) axially with respect to the cylinder bore (15). This brake modulator may be used in a vehicle antilock braking system to control separately the application or reduction of brake fluid to different brake actuators.
(FR) Un modulateur de frein comprend un ensemble soupape (11) qui définit un alésage de cylindre (15). Un piston à gradins (25, 40) coulisse et forme un joint étanche dans l'alésage de cylindre (15) et divise ce dernier en deux chambres de travail (30, 43); chaque chambre de travail (30, 43) comporte une entrée (17, 50) et une sortie (22, 51) avec un siège de soupape (18, 45) disposé entre elles et des éléments de soupape (20, 47) placés entre chaque entrée (17, 50) et le siège de soupape (18, 45). Chacun des éléments de soupape (20, 47) est sollicité de façon flexible en direction de son siège de soupape associé (18, 45) et un organe de butée (35, 63) associé avec le piston (25, 40) sert à réguler le mouvement de chaque élément de soupape (20, 47) en réponse au mouvement axial du piston (25, 40). Un organe (70) est prévu pour déplacer sélectivement le piston (25, 40) dans un sens axial par rapport à l'alésage de cylindre (15). Ce modulateur de frein peut être utilisé dans un système de freinage antibloquant d'un véhicule pour commander séparément l'application ou la réduction du fluide de frein sur différents actuateurs de frein.
