Abstract:
(EN) A method for selective dehydrogenation of a compound, comprising contacting a compound of formula (I), wherein each R1, R2, R3 and R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, (C1-C20) alkyl, (C3-C20) cycloalkyl, (C6-C20) aryl, (C7-C20) alkylaryl, (C7-C20) aralkyl groups, as well as substituted (C1-C20) alkyl, (C3-C20) cycloalkyl, (C6-C20) aryl, (C7-C20) aralkyl and (C7-C20) arylalkyl moieties, optionally further substituted with -OR, wherein R is R1, R2, R3 or R4; and wherein R1 and R2 or R3 and R4 may be joined as part of a ring structure, at a dehydrogenation temperature in the presence of a catalyst comprising about 0.01 wt % - 19.9 wt % Pd and about 0.01 wt % - 19.9 wt % Cu on a carbon support, wherein the total amount of (Pd + Cu) on the support is about 0.02 wt % to 20 wt %, the weight ratio of Pd:Cu is about 1:1 to 10:1, and the carbon support has a surface area of at least about 100 m2/g and is essentially free of reactive sulfur. A selective dehydrogenation catalyst having the composition described $i(supra) is disclosed as is a method of preparing the same. This catalyst is highly selective for dehydrogenating a variety of substrates while minimizing the formation of unwanted hydrogenolysis by-products.
(FR) Procédé permettant la déshydrogénation sélective d'un composé, consistant à mettre en contact un composé de la formule (I) dans laquelle chaque R1, R2, R3 et R4 est choisi indépendamment dans un groupe se composant de H, de groupes alkyle (C1-C20), cycloalkyle (C3-C20), aryle (C6-C20), alkylaryle (C7-C20), aralkyle (C7-C20), ainsi que de parties substituées d'alkyle (C1-C20), de cyloalkyle (C3-C20), d'aryle (C6-C20), d'aralkyle (C7-C20), et d'arylalkyle (C7-C20), en outre éventuellement substituées par -OR, où R représente R1, R2, R3 ou R4, et où R1 et R2 ou R3 et R4 peuvent être réunis dans le cadre d'une structure annulaire, à une température de déshydrogénation en présence d'un catalyseur comprenant environ 0,01 % à 19,9 % en poids de Pd et environ 0,01 % à 19,9 % en poids de Cu sur un support de carbone dans lequel la somme totale de (Pd + Cu) sur le support représente environ 0,02 % à 20 % en poids, le rapport en poids de Pd:Cu est d'environ 1:1 à 10:1, le support de carbone ayant une aire de surface d'au moins environ 100 m2/g et étant virtuellement exempt de soufre réactif. Un catalyseur de déshydrogénation sélectif ayant la composition dite $i(supra) est décrit ainsi qu'un procédé en permettant la préparation. Ce catalyseur est hautement sélectif pour déshydrogéner une grande variété de substrats tout en réduisant au minimum la formation de produits dérivés d'hydrogénolyse non désirés.
