Abstract:
(EN) A strip of optical contrast laser recording material (17) is disposed on the wallet-size card (11), and has laser written characters recorded thereon. The characters are formed by a plurality of pixels, similar in nature to the dots forming dot matrix characters, except that the pixels themselves are formed of spots. The spots are disposed in a geometric regular array and are usually written one column at a time until a complete pixel is formed. Machine readable (19) and visually readable characters (23) may be combined on a single data strip.
(FR) On dispose sur la carte (11) de la taille d'un portefeuille une bande de matière (17) d'enregistrement par laser à contraste optique, sur laquelle sont enregistrés des caractères inscrits par laser. Les caractères sont formés par une pluralité de pixels, de nature similaire aux points formant des caractères matriciels par points, excepté que les pixels eux-mêmes sont formés de taches. Les taches sont disposées dans un réseau géométrique régulier et sont communément inscrites une colonne à la fois jusqu'à formation d'un pixel complet. On peut combiner sur une seule bande de données des caractères lisibles par machine (19) et lisibles visuellement (23).
