Abstract:
(EN) The present invention provides an improved introducing-dilating catheter (6) which may also be applied to facilitate insertion of catheters of all types and functional purposes. The catheter has a tapered portion (5) which is, in turn, connected to a bevelled tip portion (4) to facilitate insertion of the catheter into a preexisting puncture aperture. The bevelled tip portion is finished to remove any points capable of puncturing or any edges capable of injuring the tissues by the application of only a small force. Indicia means (2) are provided to enable the practitioner using the introduction-dilation catheter (6) to determine the orientation of the tip (4) of the catheter so that the leading point of the bevelled tip will initiate engagement with the vascular puncture cut and enter the vessel in the acute angle formed between the guide wire (11) and the vessel wall (13). Additionally, after entry of the entire tip (9), the indicia means (2) allow the introducing catheter to be reoriented so as to keep the bevel parallel to the wall of a vessel.
(FR) Un cathéter (6) amélioré d'introduction-dilatation peut également aider à introduire des cathéters de tous types et fonctions. Le cathéter comprend une partie conique (5) reliée à une pointe biseautée (4) qui facilite l'insertion du cathéter dans une ouverture prééxistante de ponction. La pointe biseautée est usinée de façon à éliminer toutes pointes susceptibles de piquer et toues les arêtes susceptibles de blesser des tissus suite à l'application de forces, même minimes. Des marques (2) permettent au médecin qui manipule le cathéter d'introduction-dilatation (6) de déterminer l'orientation de la pointe (4) du cathéter, de sorte à faire entrer la pointe biseautée dans un vaisseau, à travers une incision vasculaire, dans l'angle aigu formé entre le fil métallique de guidage (11) et la paroi du vaisseau (13). En outre, les marques (2) permettent de réorienter le cathéter après la pénétration de la pointe (9) toute entière de façon à maintenir le biseau parallèle à la paroi du vaisseau.
