Abstract
(EN) Ink transparencies having three-dimensional ink spots tend to scatter transmitted light. The present invention provides an ink transparency and method of making transparency which reduces this problem. The transparency includes a transparent substrate (20) such as a polyester sheet, an ink pattern disposed on one surface (25) of the substrate (20) in the form of three-dimensional ink spots (21) having curved surfaces (22) and a transparent layer (23) covering the ink spots (21) having an index of refraction approximately the same as that of the ink spots (21). The transparent layer (23) is applied to the substrate (20) and the ink spots (21) as a liquid coating which wets the surfaces (25, 22) of the substrate (20) and ink spots (21) and spreads over them to produce a transparent layer having a maximum deviation of about 20 degrees from a plane parallel to the substrate surface (25).
(FR) Les tranparents destinés à recevoir de l'encre et portant des points d'encre tridimensionnels tendent à disperser la lumière transmise. La présente invention décrit un transparent qui atténue ce problème. Le transparent comprend un substrat transparent (20) tel qu'une feuille de polyester, un type d'encre disposé sur une surface (25) du substrat (20), sous forme de points d'encre (21) tridimensionnels ayant des surfaces courbées (22), et une couche transparente (23) couvrant les points d'encre (21), dont l'indice de réfraction est approximativement égal à celui des points d'encre (21).
