Abstract

A vehicle antilock braking system has a master cylinder (20) which upon brake application will provide a source of high pressure fluid. The master cylinder (20) serves at least one braking circuit, said braking circuit including a first brake actuator (11; 13) associated with one wheel of the vehicle and a second brake actuator (17; 15) associated with another wheel of the vehicle. Control means (24, 26, 28; 25, 27, 29) includes means (26, 28; 27, 29) for sensing a change of velocity of said one wheel and valve means (24, 25) for reducing the pressure of fluid delivered to the brake actuators (11, 17; 13, 15) when wheel deceleration increases above a predetermined limit. The valve means (24; 25) is arranged to reduce the pressure to said first brake actuator (11; 13) at a slower rate than the pressure to said second brake actuator (17; 15).

Un système de freinage antiblocage pour véhicule comprend un maître-cylindre (20) fournissant lors de l'actionnement des freins une source de fluide sous haute pression et desservant au moins un circuit de freinage, lequel comprend un premier actuateur de frein (11; 13) associé à l'une des roues du véhicule et un second actuateur de frein (17; 15) associé à l'autre roue du véhicule. Une unité de commande (24, 26, 28; 25, 27, 29) comprend un organe (26, 28; 27, 29) permettant de détecter un changement de vitesse de la première roue et une soupape (24; 25) permettant de réduire la pression du fluide alimentant les actuateurs de frein (11, 17; 13, 15), lorsque la décélération des roues dépasse une limite prédéterminée. La soupape (24; 25) est conçue pour permettre une réduction de la pression s'exerçant sur le premier actuateur de frein (11; 13) à une vitesse inférieure à la réduction de la pression s'exerçant sur le second actuateur de frein (17; 15).
