Abstract:
(EN) A signal selection system (100) wherein a plurality of received digital signals (1-N) are combined to form a majority signal. Each of the received digital signals (1-N) is compared (106) to the majority signal to estimate the bit-error-rate (BER) of each received signal (1-N). If the difference between the highest and lowest BER is less than a predetermined threshold, the majority signal is selected (110) for reception. Conversely, if the BER difference is greater than the predetermined threshold, the received digital signal with the lowest BER is selected (110) for reception. Thus, the signal with the lowest BER is selected to provide the best possible communications.
(FR) Système de sélection de signaux (100) dans lequel une pluralité de signaux numériques reçus (1-N) sont combinés pour former un signal de majorité. Chacun des signaux numériques reçus (1-N) est comparé (106) au signal de majorité pour effectuer une estimation du taux d'erreur binaire (BER) de chaque signal reçu (1-N). Si la différence entre le BER le plus élevé et le BER le plus faible est inférieure à un seuil prédéterminé, le signal de majorité est sélectionné (110) pour la réception. Réciproquement, si la différence entre les BER dépasse le seuil prédéterminé, le signal numérique reçu présentant le BER le plus bas est sélectionné (110) pour la réception. Le signal présentant le BER le plus bas est ainsi sélectionné pour obtenir les meilleures conditions de communication possibles.
