Abstract:
(EN) Ink jet printer of the pressurized, continuous stream type for printing an image on a recording surface (7) having a nozzle (3) from which an electrically conductive ink stream (1) is expelled along a path toward the recording surface so that ink droplets are selectively deflected (5) or interrupted (25) to keep them from impinging on the recording surface. An ink mist shield (15) is positioned proximate to the recording surface, the shield maintained at a first potential, while a contact (23) is employed for charging the recording surface itself to a second potential substantially different from the first potential whereby ink which impinges thereon is charged and mist particles that rebound are impelled toward the mist shield by the field due to the different potentials. The method of use is a replication of this system.
(FR) Imprimante à jet d'encre du type à écoulement continu pressurisé pour l'impression d'une image sur une surface d'enregistrement (7), et ayant un ajutage d'où sort un écoulement (1) d'encre électriquement conductrice le long d'un chemin se dirigeant vers la surface d'enregistrement de sorte que les gouttelettes d'encre sont sélectivement déviées (5) ou interrompues (25) pour les empêcher de heurter la surface d'enregistrement. Un écran (15) de brouillard d'encre est positionné à proximité de la surface d'enregistrement et est maintenu à un premier potentiel, un contact (23) étant utilisé pour charger la surface d'enregistrement à un second potentiel sensiblement différent du premier potentiel de sorte que l'encre entrant en collision avec la surface d'enregistrement est chargée et les particules de brouillard qui rebondissent sont attirées vers l'écran de brouillard grâce au champ électrique dû aux potentiels différents. Le procédé d'utilisation est une réplique de ce système.
