Abstract:
(EN) An improved system for injecting liquid medication into the tissues of a person without using a needle to penetrate the skin includes a power supply mechanism (104) having a source (102) of compressed gas which drives a piston (220) against the plunger (106) of a syringe (100). The syringe (100) has an aperture (118) which is placed against the skin of a person and through which the liquid medication is ejected with sufficient force to pass through the skin and into the underlying tissues. The syringe (100) is provided with a removable needle assembly (120) so that the syringe (100) can be filled with liquid medication in a conventional manner. The system is constructed so that the needle assembly (120) must be removed in order to insert the syringe (100) into the power supply mechanism (104) and is also constructed so that the power supply mechanism (104) cannot be triggered to release the compressed gas unless a syringe (100) is inserted in the power supply mechanism (104) and properly secured.
(FR) Un système amélioré d'injection d'un médicament liquide dans les tissus d'une personne sans utiliser d'aiguille pour percer la peau comprend un mécanisme d'entraînement (104) possédant une source (102) de gaz comprimé qui entraîne un piston (220) contre le plongeur (106) d'une seringue (100). La seringue (100) présente une ouverture (118) placée contre la peau d'une personne et à travers laquelle le médicament liquide est éjecté avec une force suffisante pour traverser la peau et s'écouler dans les tissus sous-jacents. La seringue (100) est pourvue d'un assemblage d'aiguilles amovibles (120) permettant de remplir la seringue (100) avec un médicament liquide de manière conventionnelle. Le système est construit de telle sorte que l'assemblage d'aiguilles (120) doit être enlevé afin de pouvoir introduire la seringue (100) dans le mécanisme d'entraînement (104) et est également construit de telle sorte que le mécanisme d'entraînement (104) ne peut être déclenché pour libérer le gaz comprimé tant qu'une seringue (100) n'est pas introduite dans le mécanisme d'entraînement (104) et fixée correctement.
