CLAIMS

Claim 1
An impedance mismatch detector for detecting an impedance mismatch between a first impedance
exhibiting circuit [at 30] and a second impedance exhibiting circuit [20] coupled thereto characterized by:
circuit means [10] for determining if the impedance of said first impedance exhibiting circuit [30] is within or without a selected Smith Chart threshold circle;
said threshold circle having a center at a location on the Smith Chart other than at the origin thereof,
whereby the presence of an impedance mismatch is detected when the Impedance of said first impedance exhibiting circuit [30] is without said Smith Chart threshold circle.

Claim 2

An impedance mismatch detector system for detecting an impedance mismatch between a first impedance exhibiting circuits [30] and a second impedance exhibiting circuit [20] coupled thereto characterized by:
detector circuit means [10] for determining if the impedance of said first impedance exhibiting circuit is within or without a selected Smith Chart threshold circle, said threshold circle having a center at a location on the Smith Chart other than at the origin thereof,
radius control circuit means [360,370,400], coupled to said detector circuit means, for
controlling the radius of said threshold circle in response to a change in a first parameter.

Claim 3

An impedance mismatch detector system for detecting an impedance mismatch between a first impedance exhibiting circuits [30] and a second impedance exhibiting circuit [20] coupled thereto characterized by:
detector circuit means [10] for determining if the impedance of said first impedance exhibiting circuit is within or without a selected Smith Chart threshold circle, said threshold circle having a center at a location on the Smith Chart other than at the origin thereof,
center control circuit means [310], coupled to said detector circuit means, for controlling the position of the center of said threshold circle on the Smith Chart in response to a change in a first parameter.
