Abstract:
(EN) A tape rule or displacement measuring apparatus, comprises a reader means (30) and a member (1) that is relatively movable. The member (1) carries a position track defined by a sequence of alternative markings (3, 4) made in succession along the member (1). The markings (3, 4) record different values in a pseudo-random sequence resulting from repetitive operations on a seed consisting of a small number of elements. The sequence has a group of successive markings (3, 4) of length at least equal to that of the seed which occurs at a single position in the sequence so that a succession of markings read from the track defines an absolute position of the reading means (30) and the member (1). The reading means (30) has at least three sensors arranged to respond to different locations within the pattern of each marking (3, 4) and only a single sensor (30a) changes state each time the member (1) moves through a displacement interval. The state changes are decoded by logic (10).
(FR) Un mètre à ruban ou un appareil de mesure à déplacement comprend un moyen de lecture (30) et un organe (1) qui est relativement mobile. L'organe (1) porte une piste de position définie par une séquence de repères alternatifs (3, 4) se succédant le long de l'organe (1). Les repères (3, 4) consignent différentes valeurs dans une séquence pseudo-aléatoire résultant d'opérations répétitives sur une valeur de départ constituée d'un petit nombre d'éléments. La séquence possède un groupe de repères successifs (3, 4) de longueur au moins égale à celle de la valeur de départ, lequel groupe n'apparaît qu'à une seule position dans la séquence de sorte qu'une succession de repères lus depuis la piste définit une position absolue du moyen de lecture (30) et de l'organe (1). Le moyen de lecture (30) possède au moins trois capteurs agencés pour réagir à différents emplacements à l'intérieur de la configuration de chaque repère (3, 4) et un seul capteur (30a) change d'état chaque fois que l'organe (1) franchit un intervalle de déplacement. Les changements d'état sont décodés par un circuit logique (10).
