Abstract:
(EN) A shock-absorber is designed to be used in particular with a motor cycle or a motor car. The shock-absorber is so arranged as to permit the variation of the shock-absorbing capacity or the resistance of the shock-absorber by means of control impulses from an external unit in the form of a computer (40). The shock-absorber is of the kind which comprises a cylinder (2) operating with a fluid or with fluid/gas. Inside the cylinder is a fixed piston (3) which is provided with at least one passageway. In this passageway fluid is able to flow from one side (3a) of the piston to its other side, and vice versa. The piston has built into it an organ (17) capable of being controlled by the control unit (4) and so arranged as to vary depending on the control impulses (i1) received from the control unit the cross-sectional area of the passageway, in so doing causing a variation in the aforementioned shock-absorbing capacity.
(FR) Amortisseur destiné à être utilisé notamment dans un véhicule automobile ou dans une motocyclette. L'amortisseur est conçu de manière à permettre la variation de la capacité d'amortissement ou de la résistance de l'amortisseur à l'aide d'impulsions de commande provenant d'une unité externe sous la forme d'un ordinateur (40). L'amortisseur est du type comprenant un cylindre (2) utilisant un fluide ou un fluide/gaz. A l'intérieur du cylindre est logé un piston fixe (3) pourvu d'au moins un passage. A travers ce passage le fluide peut s'écouler d'un côté (3a) du piston à l'autre côté et vice versa. Dans le piston est intégré un organe (17) pouvant être commandé par l'unité de commande (4) et permettant de modifier, en fonction des impulsions de commande (i1) reçues de l'unité de commande, la section transversale du passage, provoquant ainsi une variation de la capacité d'amortissement.
