Abstract:
(EN) Method of and apparatus for making a shaped crosslinked extruded polymeric product by extruding compacted, melted polymer, e.g., polyethylene, into a mixer (18) formed on or fitted to the discharge end of an extruder, injecting proportionate amounts of a mixture of compounding ingredients including olefinically unsaturated hydrolyzable silane, free-radical generator and, preferably, a silanol condensation catalyst into the compacted melted polymer. The polymer and compounding ingredients are blended in the mixer (18) until the silane is grafted to said polymer, and the resulting grafted polymer mixed with the silanol condensation catalyst is extruded through a die to form the product of the required final shape. The resulting product is subjected to the action of H2O until the grafted polymer is crosslinked.
(FR) Procédé et dispositif de production d'un article polymère extrudé, réticulé et façonné en extrudant un polymère compacté en fusion, par exemple du polyéthylène, dans un mélangeur (18) formé ou monté sur l'extrémité de décharge d'une extrudeuse, et en injectant des quantités proportionnées d'un mélange d'ingrédients de formation de composés, comprenant un silane hydrolysable à insaturation oléfinique, un générateur de radicaux libres et, de préférence, un catalyseur de condensation de silanol, dans le polymère compacté en fusion. Le polymère et les ingrédients de formation de composés sont mélangés dans le mélangeur (18) jusqu'à ce que le silane se trouve greffé sur ledit polymère, et le polymère greffé résultant, mélangé avec le catalyseur de condensation de silanol, est extrudé à travers une matrice pour former le produit possédant la forme finale requise. Le produit résultant est soumis à l'action de H2O jusqu'à obtenir la réticulation du polymère greffé.
