Abstract:
(EN) An internal combustion electrical circuit breaker comprising an insulating cylinder (1), a pair of electrical conductors (2, 2') penetrating the cylinder approximately perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, a conducting hollow piston (5) contacting the conductors, an insulating pipe (6) at its open portion, an arcing chamber (7) with arcing blades (9), a combustion chamber (8) which is separated from the arcing chamber by the piston and ignition (11) gas injection (12, 13) and valve means (10) communicating with the combustion chamber. When igniting a fuel-oxygen mixture within the combustion chamber, the piston is propelled into the arcing chamber while the gases within the hollow piston and the arcing chamber blow across the sparks developing between conducters, piston and arcing blades. The circuit breaker is reset by injection compressed gas through the pipe.
(FR) Un interrupteur électrique de combustion interne comprend un cylindre isolant (1), une paire de conducteurs électriques (2, 2') pénétrant dans le cylindre approximativement perpendiculairement à son axe longitudinal, un piston creux de combustion (5) en contact avec les conducteurs, un tube isolant (6) à sa partie ouverte, une chambre d'amorçage d'arcs électriques (7) avec des lames de coupure (9), une chambre de combustion (8) qui est séparée de la chambre d'amorçage d'arcs par le piston et des moyens d'allumage (11) et d'injection de gaz (12, 13) et une soupape (10) communiquant avec la chambre de combustion. Lorsque se fait l'allumage d'un mélange de combustible-oxygène dans la chambre de combustion, le piston est propulsé dans la chambre d'amorçage d'arcs tandis que les gaz se trouvant dans le piston creux et dans la chambre d'amorçage d'arcs traversent les étincelles se développant entre les conducteurs, le piston et les lames de coupure. Le circuit interrupteur est remis à son état initial par injection de gaz comprimé au travers du tube.
