Abstract:
(EN) An arrangement for finding the direction of a sound in a medium has a thin shell structure having a circular symmetry. The structure can flex in response to incident sound energy from the medium to perturb the form of the structure. A membrane of a piezo-electric material with an anisotropic piezo-electric response to distortion is arranged to be distorted by the perturbation of the thin shell structure. The response of the membrane to this perturbation permits the direction of the incident sound to be indicated. The membrane can be of polyvinylidene difluoride with anisotropic properties. The membrane may be formed into a "dome" for example by fluid pressure inside a hemispherical shell closed by the membrane.
(FR) Un dispositif pour déterminer la direction d'un son dans un milieu possède une structure d'enveloppe mince à symétrie circulaire. La structure peut fléchir en réponse à une énergie sonore incidente provenant du milieu afin de perturber la forme de la structure. Une membrane d'un matériau piézo-électrique avec une réponse piézo-électrique anisotrope à la distorsion est prévue pour subir une distorsion en raison de la perturbation de la structure d'enveloppe mince. La réponse de la membrane à cette perturbation permet l'indication de la direction du son incident. La membrane peut être à base de difluorure de polyvinylidène doté de propriétés anisotropes. La membrane peut avoir la forme d'un dôme, par exemple grâce à une pression de fluide à l'intérieur d'une enveloppe hémisphérique fermée par la membrane.
